The HyperBatch difference.
HyperBatch is a patented algorithm singularly focused on optimizing batch processes when migrated to the cloud. Not only does HyperBatch dramatically enhance the transactional batch processing speed, but it also removes the significant overhead associated with sorting – the algorithm combines the two tasks into a single optimized process.
Performance gains can be substantial: 20–60 times faster than the mainframe and over 100 times faster than non-mainframe or refactored solutions. The more complex the original batch process, the higher the demonstrated gains.
HyperBatch Overview
The HyperBatch solution is a patented process framework designed to dramatically improve the cost and performance of batch processes migrated to a cloud environment. When tested against batch processes performed on an IBM mainframe, KeyGen’s HyperBatch solution yielded gains 20 to 60 times faster in performance, at much lower operating costs. Current cloud based batch processes result in even far better performance when employing the HyperBatch Method.
Benchmark Tests
KeyGen Data’s benchmark tests modeled a simple bank statement reconciliation process. Final results were impressive, and achieved the following:
- Performance gains: 23X – 60X over the mainframe.
- Code conversion: 80% reduction in code base (COBOL vs. HyperBatch code):
- Effective cost per transaction: reduced by 50%
Beyond Code Refactoring
In general, the KeyGen Data HyperBatch solution is not a replacement to automated refactoring. In fact, we believe such tools do an admirable job of addressing a very critical need.
On the other hand, the HyperBatch methodology was developed to address under-performing batch processes when the resulting code conversion during refactoring quite often fails to achieve acceptable results.
